Dorchester Veteran Rebuild
Ms. Cruzian is a retired female veteran and Dorchester homeowner. She served in the army for four years. Though she retired early due to some ailments, she understands how invaluable her service to our country was. She is a woman for others as she spends her time volunteering at the VFW Post and the Veterans Center at the Harvard clinic. She gives back wherever she can, especially to her fellow veterans.
This last year was rough for her; she lost her tenant, who was her only source of income, and realized her house needed critical repairs before she can lease the unit. Her boss, another female veteran, suggested she apply to Rebuilding Together Boston (RTB).
The work that RTB did, was an answer to her prayers. She said the nonprofit could not have come at a more perfect time. When RTB came to inspect her home, she had severe electrical issues that needed immediate attention.
She said the Home Builders Institute (HBI) did a wonderful job. She is extremely happy with the porch and says it is immaculate.
RTB is grateful that we were given the opportunity to help a Boston homeowner. She reiterated that safety was her priority always, and we made her home feel safe again.
Ms. Cruzian said she would encourage others to apply where she volunteers and others, she knows may need assistance.
The work done for Ms. Cruzian was made possible by the Lowe's Veterans at Home grant. We are grateful for their continued support of Boston Veterans.
